CareRota

When a shift drops, the cover finds itself.

CareRota offers a dropped shift to the right people first: the right role, in-date training, enough rest, under the weekly cap. Then it widens until someone takes it, and tells the manager at every step.

Cover cascade

Who gets offered the shift, and when.

  1. Eligible staff first

Right role and skills, in-date certificates, 11 hours' rest since their last shift, and under the 48-hour weekly cap.

  2. Widens on a timer

If nobody claims it, the offer widens to the next tier after a set time.

  3. Until it's claimed

It keeps widening until someone takes the shift. The manager is told at every step.
