A standard disinfectant kills what is on the surface, evaporates, and leaves it open again within minutes. Goldshield bonds to the surface and keeps working continuously between cleans.
The active bonds covalently to the surface and forms a microscopic layer of positively charged spikes. Microbes carry a negative charge, are drawn onto the spike, and their cell wall ruptures on contact. Nothing is consumed in the process, so the layer keeps working.

Microbes are drawn to the charged layer, pierced mechanically, and destroyed. Because the kill is physical rather than chemical, resistance does not develop.
The layer is not consumed. It continues protecting for the full window, degrading gradually through abrasion rather than expiring on a fixed date.
