The mechanism

It does not wash off, because it is not sitting on top.

The active bonds covalently to the surface and forms a microscopic layer of positively charged spikes. Microbes carry a negative charge, are drawn onto the spike, and their cell wall ruptures on contact. Nothing is consumed in the process, so the layer keeps working.

Bonds on application

Applied wet, it cures onto the surface within minutes and forms a permanent mechanical bond. It does not leach, transfer or wear away with normal cleaning.

Attracts and ruptures

Microbes are drawn to the charged layer, pierced mechanically, and destroyed. Because the kill is physical rather than chemical, resistance does not develop.

Step three

Keeps working

The layer is not consumed. It continues protecting for the full window, degrading gradually through abrasion rather than expiring on a fixed date.
